As a mere stripling of seventeen years old, Steve Ellis set the charts alight as lead vocalist with the Love Affair. Since then, Steve has been buffeted by the blasts of music fashion and personal mishaps that would've put a more delicate soul in a care home. This album is a copper-bottomed cracker, though, with Ellis in peerless vocal form - try Nu Clear Blues or Requiem For A Tyrant for starters. The guy has still got an immacualte set of blue-eyed soul vocal pipes, and I hope that the album does well enough for him to keep on keepin' on. They don't make 'em like this anymore, and what we've got left, we should treasure.
